Want to buy a house in Vail?
Homebuyers have several options for assistance through the Town of Vail's housing lottery and employee assistance program and additional programs run by Eagle County.
Housing Lottery
In 2018 the Vail Local Housing Authority and Town Council adopted lottery changes. Lotteries will be conducted as homes become available for resale for qualified applicants interested in purchasing the town's deed-restricted units. A homebuyer class certificate is required at time of submittal or within six (6) months of the resale purchase.
Downpayment Assistant Program
The Eagle County Downpayment Assistant Program provides a loan up to 2.5% of the purchase price for an open market home and up to 3.5% for a deed restricted home to help pay for down payments, closing costs and prepaids.
Miller Ranch Affordable Housing
Miller Ranch is a for-sale neighborhood of units located in Edwards and developed by Eagle County. In order to ensure the affordability of the units now and in future resales, all of the properties are deed restricted and owners must meet certain Eagle County purchase qualifications.
TOV Employee Assistance
The Town of Vail provides interest-free housing loans to eligible town employees through a program that offers financial assistance for those seeking to secure a lease or to purchase a residence.
