Special Events and the Economic Development Department 

The Economic Development Department oversees special events in the Town of Vail.  Special event permit applications are processed by the department with the support of other town departments.  The department also oversees the Committee on Special Events.  The Committee on Special Events is a Council appointed committee responsible for funding upwards of 60 events each year with the goal of driving economic vitality, cultural opportunities, and community engagement to the town.

Special Events Funding Process

Each year the Committee on Special Events publishes an RFP for event sponsorship opportunities in the Town of Vail.    The RFP for 2023 Event Sponsorship has been published and the process is closed. Information for the 2024 process can be viewed at www.vailgov.com/cserfp
