BUS IT TO HIKE IT

Please park at the Vail Village or Lionshead parking structure, day parking is free, and take a Town of Vail bus to the trailheads (route map with trail access below). All buses to the trailheads leave from the western end of the top level of the Vail Village Transportation Center. If you park in Lionshead, take the in-town bus to the Covered Bridge stop in Vail Village.

HIKER EXPRESS

Vail Transit will operate the “Hiker Express” again this summer to four trailhead bus stops in East Vail: Booth Falls, Falls at Vail, Columbine and Main Gore/Bighorn, as well as other stops along the way. Daily service will be provided from May 31 through Sept. 2 and then Fridays through Sundays from Sept. 6 through Oct. 13. The 30-minute service will run from 7:45 a.m. through 4:45 p.m.

 

 

 

OUTLYING TRAIL INFORMATION

There is no parking at the Booth Lake Trailhead beginning May 31 and there is no parking anywhere in the surrounding neighborhood, park or school. Violators will be towed. Pick-up and drop-off from passenger vehicles will be allowed at the trailhead on a limited basis, restrictions apply. All shuttles must drop-off at the bottom of Booth Falls Rd., where designated, adjacent to the Booth Falls bus stop.

Parking spaces are limited at other trailheads and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, including overnight parking. These spots fill quickly.

Visitors to the Gore/Deluge trailhead will see designated parking spaces and delineated no parking areas to address conflicts between vehicles and bicyclists on Vail Pass.


VAIL AND LIONSHEAD PARKING GARAGES

Ideal for day hikers

Free day parking and $35 overnight parking. Vehicles can stay parked no more than 14 days and must then exit garage. If you park in Lionshead, take a FREE in-town bus to the Covered Bridge stop in Vail Village.

RED SANDSTONE PARKING GARAGE

Ideal for overnight campers

Free day and $15 overnight parking. Vehicles can stay parked no more than 14 days and must then exit garage.
