Nov. 7, 2023 General Election

The Town of Vail is participating in a coordinated election with Eagle County on Nov. 7, 2023.

The election will be conducted as a mail ballot election.

Ballots are mailed to all registered voters at their current address the week of Oct. 16. The ballot issued to you will only contain those questions on which you are eligible to vote based on your place of residence listed on your voter registration. Voter registration changes can be made online by visiting Go Vote Colorado.

The Eagle County Clerk must receive your ballot no later than 7 p.m. on Nov. 7. Postmarks do not count. A Voter Service and Polling Center will be located at the Grand View, 393 South Frontage Road West (top deck of Lionshead Parking structure) to assist Vail voters with their ballots. The ballot for Vail’s electorate will include a Candidate Election. Registered electors may vote for up to four town council persons.  The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected to four-year terms and the fourth candidate receiving the next highest number of votes will serve for two years.

Other Municipal Elections

Elections may also be held at other times. Ballot issues, those which relate to financial matters such as taxes or debt, can be voted on at regular municipal elections, and may also be voted on at the November election held in even-numbered years, known as the statewide general election. Non-financial matters may be voted on in November of both odd and even numbered years in accordance with time-frames set out in state statute and municipal charter and ordinance. Finally, a special election may be held on dates other that those set out above in accordance with state statute and the Vail Municipal Code.
