The Town of Vail will observe the Thanksgiving holiday with closures for most municipal offices on Thursday, Nov. 23 and limited assistance available on Friday, Nov. 24. Please call ahead to confirm services at 970-479-2100.
In addition to most departments, full closures on Thanksgiving Day include the Parking Pass Sales Office and the Vail Public Library. The police front counter in the Municipal Building will also be closed on Thanksgiving; however, services will still be available via the call button at the main entrance. Call 911 for police, fire or medical emergencies or 970-479-2201 to speak to an officer for non-emergency issues.
The library will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 and will reopen at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24. The Welcome Centers in Vail Village and Lionshead will be open on both Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other services available on Friday, Nov. 24 will include the Parking Pass Sales Office on the lower level of the Municipal Building and the police front counter.
All offices will reopen for business with regular hours on Monday, Nov. 27. Visit the town’s website at www.vail.gov for department and service listings.
Transit services will operate uninterrupted throughout the holiday. Visit www.ride.vail.gov for schedules and real time bus information.
Holiday Trash Pickup Reminder
Residents with curbside trash service are reminded to check with their trash removal company to determine if collection schedules will be affected by the Thanksgiving holiday. Vail’s wildlife protection regulations prohibit trash from being left at the curb other than on the day of collection and recycling regulations require that all properties recycle on site. For recycling assistance, visit www.lovevail.org.
